Well hello there!
It's been a while since there was a non-destash related post on the blog and I've missed you :) I still have a little yarn left to try to destash, but I'm going to take a break for a bit as the sales have slowed down and my personal life has picked up. It's an absolute madhouse here right now and I've decided that the time has come to pull out what I've got left in the ol' converted 401K and buy a used car. (As a matter of fact, I just finished searching for several hours online for a car within my price range and with less than 100K miles. I was surprised to actually find several!) You see, Aaron started school again yesterday. Dante has an appointment roughly every two weeks, Alex has one weekly, and I've got PT twice a week. And then there's the incidental appointments when one of the boys (or both) get sick all of the sudden. There's also visiting-teaching, young men's & seminary, the grocery store, the vet, and any other thing that needs to get done, and I'm searching around for an internship opportunity while I'm still in school. My husband has practically lived in his car since mine had to be scrapped this summer, and it's taking it's toll on his body. He's exhausted. So! Time to get serious and hunt for a new-ish car.
In kid news, I've been struggling to get my little guy back on track. The allergy testing screwed him right up, and it didn't help much that he got a cold shortly after. His sleep patterns are all off again, which threw his sensory-seeking behaviors into high gear, which threw his tendency to be disobedient right into high gear. It's been a hard hard week, with the last three days being the worst. But he was better this morning than he was the last few (although still pretty off) so I have hopes that he'll do better in school today (cause he did about a poorly as he could do without being sent home yesterday). The only good thing I could say about yesterday is that he ate his veggies without a fuss (probably because he'd just been in big, big trouble and was trying to stay out of it for a few minutes, lol). I made the boys rainbow chard, hoping that the pretty colors would make them more accepting of it. They both ate it, but asked me not to make it again. Oh well.
And knitting? There hasn't actually been much of that. I've been so exhausted lately and I just haven't felt like picking up my knitting. I can honestly say, I don't remember the last time I didn't feel like knitting. I've knit pretty much every single day for the last six or seven years! Every single day. And it's not like I'm loosing interesting in knitting because I'm still surfing Ravelry several times a day, and I'm still queing patterns. Maybe it's because the fun knitting is on hold again and I'm doing deadline projects. I said yes to a few samples and I've got a sample of my own to knit as well. Two of them are due by the end of February and the third by the end of March. Oh, and I also need to knit a sweater for my mom, a hat for Aaron, a sweater and hat for Alex, and a new pair of gloves and sweater for Dante. Come to think of it, my handwarmers are finally wearing out. Whew. I'm feeling tired just thinking of it all.
So, on that note I'm going to go and try to finish my homework. Gradschool is a bummer, lol.
